Alan Lacer - Featured woodturner

Alan Lacer has been involved in the turning field for over twenty years as a turner, teacher, writer, exhibition coordinator, demonstrator and past president of the American Association of Woodturners.  His work has appeared in a number of regional and national shows and he has been a regular instructor and demonstrator of the craft -having worked in over 35 states and 4 foreign countries.  His writings have covered technical aspects of woodturning, historical commentaries and turning traditions in Japan and Germany.

We are proud to debut two new "signature" skew chisels designed by Alan Lacer. Alan is well known for making proper skew use easier. These skews are made to his strict specifications and are the same as the ones Alan uses on his Video/DVDs, "The Skew Chisel" and "The Son of Skew".

The Lacer Skews are available in two sizes: 5/8" or 1.3/8" wide. Each tool is 3/8" thick with a tool length of approx. 6.1/2". The cutting edge is radiused (curved) with the long point edge square shaped and the short point edge rolled over. This facilitates rolling beads and sliding on the tool rest with the short point, and making v-cuts with the long point.

These tools are widely available in the USA or direct from us in the UK.
